High school students explain fluctuations in animal populations in terms of invasive species interactions by modeling animal community interactions and demonstrate their mastery by producing a graph that displays population flux over time. Each student took on the role of an animal and competed for limited resources outside in modified form of flag football!

During this lab high school students design and execute research projects investigating crayfish behavior. Students use live crayfish to manipulate habitat conditions and observe agonistic interactions between conspecifics within small collaborative lab groups.
